Overpopulation

Many countries of the world are currently experiencing problems caused by overpopulation.

In fact, if you think about it, over population is in someway related to probably all of the issues that are affecting our planet.

From natural resources depletion to the scarcity of clean water we know deep down that overpopulation is one of the causes.

Besides, the problems that overpopulation brings along now will be upgraded in the very near future: The difficulty to find water and natural resources will turn into famine, diseases, poverty and war.

That being said, people shouldn’t get all pessimistic nor resign to this dramatic outcome. There are solutions, and effective ones, the only condition is to start taking action right away, because the clock is ticking and it’s already pretty late.

Of course not all of us are equally responsible for the scarcity of freshwater and the depletion of natural resources, but even if we don’t share responsibilities, we will share the consequences.

The solutions to fight this problem are surely hard to accept and may even seem outrageous to most of us because of our culture. We are used to think that for the sake of our species and its development we must procreate, but right now, the truth is, for the sake of our species and it’s development humans must stop procreating the way they are used to.

In other words, the solution, at a governmental scale Is the spread awareness. Not only spread awareness about birth control, the choice of having kids or adoption but also teaching youngsters the consequences and the impact that their future family can have on the humanity itself. If we educate young people and show them how having only one or two kids can make things so much better, we will help people realize that there is no good bringing more children to this world only for them to suffer for our generation’s choice of not fighting nor caring about overpopulation.

Let’s see, if every seven billion people on our planet have a maximum of two kids in their household, the world’s population would be drastically reduced and would be around 5 billion people by 2027. Everyone should insert this overpopulation issue in the equation when planning to have a big family, that’s what we as individuals can do to solve this problem.

Population will stop growing at some point, it is inevitable, it is now for us to choose if it’ll stop when the world has attained its breaking point or when we decide to take action.
